Eli Fulton & Sammy Bouaravanh Earn Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association (KNLA) Kansas Certified Nurseryman Designation

[Wichita, KS—July 18, 2019] Eli Fulton & Sammy Bouaravanh, Garden Center Sales Associates of Hong’s Landscape & Nursery, Inc. have earned the Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association (KNLA) Kansas Certified Nurseryman credential. They join a growing group of nursery & landscape professionals who have demonstrated they are dedicated to higher standards of practice in the horticulture industry.

The Kansas Certified Nurseryman designation acknowledges horticulture professionals who have demonstrated their experience and proficiency in general horticulture practices, landscape design & maintenance, and Kansas Plant Identification. It is built on Local Kansas and National applicable standards of practice, knowledge, and ethics to differentiate horticulture professionals who have taken the steps necessary to become certified.

After conducting industry research, the Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association (KNLA) Kansas Certified Nurseryman certification was created to recognize horticulture professionals who are committed to professional development and the attainment of the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs at the highest level of quality.

The the Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association (KNLA) Kansas Certified Nurseryman credential is also an avenue for employers to recognize and promote horticulture professionals. To become a Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association (KNLA) Kansas Certified Nurseryman certificant, Eli & Sammy met requirements in three areas:

  • General Kansas Horticulture Knowledge
  • General Landscape Proficiency
  • Recommend Kansas Plant Identification

The three-hour Kansas Nursery & Landscape Association (KNLA) Kansas Certified Nurseryman exam is offered two times annually. The exam includes approximately 325 multiple-choice, T/F, fill in the blank & essay questions on subject areas including basic botany, general horticulture practices, basic landscape maintenance, basic landscape design, estimating and costing, and plant identification.
